How to Cook
Shell and wash.
Bring 1 inch of water and beans to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer.
Cook until beans are tender, 10 – 25 mins, depending on the bean size. Drain.
Season with 1 tsp of salt to 4 cups of beans or to taste. Add butter if desired.
How to Freeze
Shell, wash and sort according to size. Discard immature, old or split beans.
Blanch small beans 1 min, medium beans 2 mins and large beans 3-4 mins.
Cool immediately in cold water; drain and put in freezer containers.
Put beans, meat and salt in pot with water and bring to a boil.
Add tomato and sugar.
Cook until beans are soft.
Add dumplings if desired.
