A slow-growing, broad-leafed evergreen with spiny leaves… a dead ringer for a holly. This one is a variegated type with primarily green leaves with gold and cream speckling. New growth is a blend of pink and bronze. Goshiki means five-colored in Japanese. This shrub can tolerate full sun to deep shade but does best in part to dappled sunlight. Growing 4 to 5 feet tall and wide in 10 years but can be easily maintained to 3 feet with minimal selective pruning. Does not require much care..water when young but after that it is drought tolerant and insect resistant.
