GRASS - FOUNTAIN DWARF HAMELN (pennisetum)

Description

GRASS DWARF FOUNTAIN 'HAMELN' - Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Hamelin'

'Hameln' is a dwarf form of fountain grass which plumes earlier than the species.  Plant in full to part sun and provide well drained soil.  Grows 2-3' Tall X 2-3' Wide
This dwarf mounding grass is great for mass plantings and containers.  Seed heads appear in July and open fluffy buff-colored, turning a creamy tan when mature.  Drought tolerant.

** It is BEST to cut your grasses back in late February to early March in order to protect the roots and ensure the health of your plants.  If your ornamental grasses become a bit unruly by the end of the fall cut them back to only one half the height of the plant and leave the rest for early spring.
