GRASS - FOUNTAIN BLACK MOUDRY (pennisetum)
GRASS FOUNTAIN BLACK MOUDRY - Pennisetum acutiflora 'Moudry
A vigorous hardy fountain grass. Moudry grows best in full to part sun reaching 2-3 feet tall and wide. It has a neat upright mounding habit and works well as a border, accent or mass planting. Dark green glossy foliage with purple-black bottle-brush plumes. Moudry will self-seed but it's unique plume color and hardiness make it an added treasure to the garden.
** It is BEST to cut your grasses back in late February to early March in order to protect the roots and ensure the health of your plants. If your ornamental grasses become a bit unruly by the end of the fall cut them back to only one half the height of the plant and leave the rest for early spring.
