How to Cook
Bring 1 inch of water to a boil.
Add 3-4 cups cubed turnips and ½ - 1 tsp salt or to taste.
Return to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 10-15 mins.
Cook small whole turnips approximately 20 mins.
Mash, like potatoes, serve plain, buttered or with white or cheese sauce.
How to Freeze
Remove tops, wash, peel, slice or dice (1/2 inch).
Blanch for 2 mins.
Cool immediately in cold water; drain, and place in freezer package.
6 med turnips
2 TBS sugar
2/3 c sour cream
1 tsp salt
2 TBS vinegar
Peel and grate turnips. Combine remaining ingredients to make dressing.
Pour over turnips and mix well.
